The short version: no account, no advertising, and no listening-history analytics. Your sound selections and saved mixes stay on your device. Software updates, website delivery, and messages you choose to send involve limited online information, as described below.
1. Who we are and what this covers
AverageDevs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) develops Sonoloom, an ambient sound mixer. This policy covers the Sonoloom app, including its Android package com.averagedevs.sonoloom, and our website at sonoloom.averagedevs.com.
It explains our current app and website. App stores, your device’s operating system, and external services have their own privacy practices. Features and availability can differ between platforms and releases.
2. What stays on your device
The app stores your selected sounds, volume levels, named soundscapes, favorites, and widget configuration in local app storage. Widgets use locally shared settings to display and control your selected soundscape. We do not upload these settings to an AverageDevs server or provide account-based cloud synchronization.
All 91 sounds are included with the app. Playing or mixing them does not require streaming audio from a server. The app does not record your microphone or request access to your camera, contacts, or precise location. We do not create a listening-history profile.
Playback information, such as soundscape names and playback status, is made available to your operating system for notifications, lock-screen controls, and widgets. Your operating system controls how that information appears on your device.
Your operating system may include app settings in device backups or device-to-device transfers, depending on its settings and platform rules. Those backups are managed by the platform provider, not by a Sonoloom cloud service.
3. Software update connections
Shorebird-enabled app builds can check for and download software fixes. Sonoloom schedules update checks while the app is in the foreground and playback is paused. Sounds remain available when you are offline or an update check fails.
Update requests can include an app identifier, software version, update channel and patch number, operating-system platform, processor architecture, and a randomly generated installation identifier. Shorebird uses the installation identifier for aggregate usage counts and service billing. Update events can also include a patch number, timestamp, and technical error details. Internet infrastructure receives the connection’s IP address and may keep operational logs.
Your saved soundscape names, selected sounds, and volume settings are not part of Sonoloom’s update requests. The installation identifier is distinct from an advertising identifier. See Shorebird’s update-data documentation and Shorebird’s privacy policy for its handling and retention of update information.
4. Visiting this website
This website has no account, advertising scripts, analytics scripts, embedded social feeds, or tracking pixels. Fonts and visual assets are served from this website. The site’s own code does not set cookies or use browser storage.
To deliver pages and protect the service, the web host and network providers receive standard request information, which can include IP address, requested URL, request time, browser or device information, referring page, and response status. Operational logging and retention depend on the hosting provider and its configuration. This information is separate from your local Sonoloom mixes.
Following a link to Google Play, AverageDevs, or another external website takes you to a service governed by its own privacy policy.
5. Support messages and external services
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and any attachments or diagnostics you provide. We use it to respond, investigate problems, and maintain the app. Please do not send passwords or other sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.
Google Play handles Android distribution, testing enrollment, store reviews, and platform diagnostics under Google’s privacy policy. We may receive information that Google makes available to developers, such as reviews, test feedback, and aggregate or technical reports. These are separate from in-app listening analytics, which we do not add.
Our email, hosting, and update providers may process information on our behalf or under their own policies. Their infrastructure may be located outside your country.
7. Retention, deletion, and your choices
- Local app data: stays in app storage until you change it, clear app data, or uninstall the app, subject to operating-system backup and restore behavior. You can remove named soundscapes and favorites in the app. Clearing app data removes your locally saved settings.
- Software update data: is handled under Shorebird’s retention policy. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes the locally stored installation identifier; a later installation may create a new one. This does not itself delete records already held by an external provider.
- Support correspondence: is retained for as long as needed to handle the request, follow up on issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. You can ask us to delete correspondence we hold about you.
- Website logs: are subject to the web host’s configuration and applicable operational or legal requirements.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request. We may need reasonable information to verify that a request concerns you. We cannot retrieve mixes stored only on your device or directly control data held independently by a platform provider.
There is no Sonoloom account to delete. To remove local data, use the app’s controls or your device’s app-storage settings. Backup copies, if any, must be managed through your platform’s backup settings.
8. Security and children
Sonoloom uses the operating system’s app storage protections, and online software-update services use encrypted network connections. No device, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Sonoloom is a general-purpose ambient sound app, not a service specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an account or profile. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a message, contact us so we can address it and delete it where appropriate.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app, website, providers, or applicable requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice of a material change.
